A spreadsheet for Canadian freelancers, contractors and side-hustlers who want their numbers in one place at tax time. Works in Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets. One-time price: $19 CAD.
Income log: date, client, invoice #, payment method, and the amount before tax. GST/HST collected is calculated from your province's rate. If a sale is taxed at a different rate, such as a client in another province, an export or an exempt supply, you can override the rate for that row.
Expense log with CRA T2125 categories: a dropdown of the 22 business-expense lines from Form T2125 (Advertising 8521, Meals and entertainment 8523, Office expenses 8810, and so on). Enter the GST/HST on each receipt and your business-use %. Meals are automatically limited to 50%.
Province rate selector: choose your province or territory and the GST or HST rate fills in: 5% GST, or 13%, 14% or 15% HST. You can edit any rate if it changes.
Annual summary: month-by-month income, expenses, GST/HST collected, estimated input tax credits, estimated net income and estimated net GST/HST, plus totals for each T2125 line. It's all formulas, so it updates as you type.
Instructions tab with plain-language steps and notes on what the tracker does and doesn't cover.

Who it's for
Sole proprietors and freelancers in Canada who report business income on a T2125 and want something simpler than accounting software. It's a good fit if you have a manageable number of transactions and are comfortable in a spreadsheet.
What it doesn't do
It doesn't file anything with the CRA or connect to your bank.
It doesn't track provincial sales taxes (BC/SK PST, MB RST, Quebec QST) or calculate the Quick Method, CCA, home-office or vehicle expenses. You enter those amounts yourself.
It doesn't handle payroll, inventory or corporations (T2).
What you get
One .xlsx file, delivered by download right after purchase. To use it in Google Sheets, upload it to Google Drive and choose "Open with Google Sheets."
Not tax advice. This is an organizing tool, not tax, legal or accounting advice. Tax rules change and depend on your situation. Consult a qualified accountant, and see official CRA guidance, including Guide T4002 and the CRA GST/HST pages. Check rates and totals before you file.
